Job Description

Our client has established a managed Passive Fire Protection service which is focussed on facilities associated with the production and processing of hydrocarbons, both onshore and offshore. This service has a number of elements to it, including condition assessment, fire risk analysis, performance standard development, specification development, QA/QC auditing, R&D, etc, but one of the key areas of this service is the ability to advise clients how to optimise the locations and thickness of PFP to reduce cost, weight, and maintenance requirements.

Our client has a number of positions suited to engineers with a desire to specialise in fire engineering within the onshore and offshore hydrocarbon industries. You will be involved in the structural engineering aspects of the service, but will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge into materials technology, safety engineering, integrity management and liaising with clients, contractors and subcontractors. The projects are major international projects with significant multimillion pound budgets, and you will have the opportunity for work in worldwide locations.

Background/Experience

Successful candidates will have a good degree in an engineering or science discipline, and may be qualified to a higher level.

The successful candidate should have a good background in structural design or structural/finite element analysis, and a strong interest in non-linear analysis techniques under extreme loadings.
