25yr old drummer looking to join/start rock band.
Own kit and transport, based in South Manchester (Heaton Chapel area).
Not played for about 6months due to other commitments, but now have time again to play, as moving in with the girlfriend!
Influences wise, I listen to Maiden, Priest, AC DC, Rush, Led Zep, Metallica, Guns n Roses....usual mix of 70s/80s early 90s heavy rock sorta stuff. Looking to play something reasonably heavy, but not into screaming vocals and constant double kick work. I'm into the "fun" indulgent side of rock, so big guitar solos, long instrumental sections, big riffs, non of this 3min pop song malarky!
I also play guitar and piano, and write my own stuff. I would say I am a competent player, though a bit rusty at the moment.
Work full time, so although am looking for a decent level of commitment from people (pref 2 practices a week), I appreciate the need to keep fairly normal hours during the week.
There has got to be a band/musicians out there into what i'm after, or is Manchester all indie??
