20 RTA Litigators

We have been retained by our Client to provide 20 RTA Litigators to join this Top National Law Firm during the first round of their large expansion programme.
Vacancies will be for the London and Manchester offices.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of 110 fast track RTA cases with at least 60% in litigation. The primary purpose is to litigate and conclude cases falling within the Fast Track and Multi Track
wherever this will be to the benefit of the client and the financial benefit of the practice.

Cases will be referred to a RTA Litigator primarily from the Legal Assistance area as either:

- Liability in dispute
- Quantum in dispute
- Pre Action cases with a value of between £10 and £15k
- Case is of a complexity that is not suitable for the Legal Assistance area.

The role:
To handle cases within the parameters set for an RTA Litigator. To maximise profits through ensuring own cases are dealt with to a high technical standard. To support your department
manager, team manager and team in implementing case handling procedures, and ensuring all staff are fully aware of the technical issues, which must be adopted to ensure that the team’s
function is maintained. Ensure all cases handled directly meet the high level of Customer Service expected.

MAIN DUTIES:

- Responsible for own performance and assist with department targets.
- To provide support to your team in achieving targets and objectives.
- Decisions affect efficiency of team / own specific output.
- Responds to direction from above.
- Recommends modifications to systems or practices to improve customer service.
- Initiates customer / supplier contact and handles more complex procedures.
- Achieve high levels of quality control ensuring service levels for customers are adhered to.
- Motivates self and team as appropriate.
- Responsible for achieving own targets and objectives.
- To support the team and department in meeting targets and objectives set.
- Knows when to escalate issues upwards and gain support.
- Applies changes to procedures and may suggest further improvements.
- Communicates any ideas openly / using the ideas system.
- Explains complex issues / procedures to customers / suppliers and team members.
- Shares information with team / customers.
- Communicates at team / individual level.
- Performs within agreed parameters (time, resources, budgets).
- Achieves own objectives.
- Uses knowledge of job processes and procedures.
- Report to Team Manager on technical issues.

ESSENTIAL REQUIRMENTS:

- Civil Procedural Rules
- General understanding of Insurance principles
- JSB guidelines
- Good working knowledge of PI and PD claims handling processes
- Value soft tissue injuries accurately
- Assess simple loss of earnings
- Negotiation
