Tour Management is a fantastic way to earn money either as a full time job or alongside your existing career. Tour Managers act on a self-employed basis and effectively hire themselves to Tour Operators to lead tours lasting from two to forty five days in length. The Academy was set up by Spirit Coachlines Limited to promote Tour Management as an effective career choice. Owned and run by experienced Tour Managers, the company has developed a series of one day training courses and seminars to give people the knowhow to get hired and stay hired by leading Tour Companies. Spirit Coachlines is a Travel Management Company and has locations in Stockport and London.

The day is split into two parts. The seminar is brought to you by your trainer, who is also an experienced Tour Manager still working for various Tour Companies. In the seminar you will listen to firsthand experience of what actually happens in the job, the problems faced, the fun times and the bad times! The actual training course will last for most of the day and will cover...
Finding work.
Preparing for your first tour.
Meeting and greeting and crowd management.
Onboard your coach the PA system, safety and emergency procedures and passenger facilities.
Working with hotels, attractions, coach drivers, train staff and third party suppliers.
Selling optional excursions.
Coach tour itineraries.
Rail tour itineraries.
Unforeseen problems illness, missing bags, missing passengers, mechanical problems, death!
Customer service
Sole Trader financial Management fundamentals.
The day is split into four sessions, with a morning break, afternoon break and lunch hour in between sessions. All drinks, lunch and light refreshments are provided for the day along with all training materials and manuals. The course is ideal for those who are unsure of what career route they wish to follow, those wishing to earn extra cash or students (especially those of Tourism related courses) looking for flexible work.

The course is priced at a nominal fee of £55.00 per delegate. This includes all course materials, unlimited tea and coffee and a sandwich buffet lunch.
