Site Manager Providers Works
To manage and drive delivery of Providers Works Schemes to time, within budget, with minimum impact to the travelling public and environment and instilling a strong safety and quality culture in everything undertaken.
To be accountable for delivery of the works to the Project Manager, with line responsibilities to the Construction Manager.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Main Activities:
- Planning and preparation of schemes to ensure right first time delivery.
- Support the Programme Delivery Project Managers and Construction Manager in the development of schemes and resources.
- Manage the Designer in the delivery of all information and outputs required
- Contribute to value engineering, Advise the Project Manager and Designer on matters of build-ability
- Agree any changes in scope of work with the Project Manager, and ensure they are properly and timely communicated
- Liaise with the local authorities, emergency services, statutory undertakers and other stakeholders to assist in successful delivery of the scheme
- Establish milestones/targets with the Project Manager, communicate them to the site team and ensure delivery
- Report on site performance to the Project Manager and HA Project Sponsor
- Attend / Chair weekly co-ordination, progress and programme meetings
- Assist with commercial aspects of the work as required by the A-one+ Quantity Surveyor, with appropriate records/reporting
- Assist the QS with monthly financial reports and compensation events
- Agree budgets and work within, ensure accurate allocation of plant/lab/materials and cost capture.
- Drive all stages of work to meet programmes and deadlines.
- Make arrangements, prior to completion, for handover to the Network Management Team
- Manage all sub-contractor and A-one+ workforce activities on site.
- Understand and implement the A-one+ Health and Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure that works are undertaken in line with the site specific Health and Safety Plans, and RAMS with all control measures implemented and their effectiveness monitored. Inspect method statements and permit to work systems, and advise on acceptability and input into development
- Ensure Site Teams have adequate Health, Safety and Environmental training to undertake their roles
- Implement the duties, at site management level, of the Principle Contractor under the CDM Regulations
- Ensure works are undertaken in a way that minimises impact on the environment and travelling public.
- Ensure work is to the quality and specification required in the Inspection and Test Plan.
- Undertake site safety audits / inspections.
- Ensure operations have sufficient resources and competent personnel assigned to them at all times.
- Liaise with Traffic Managers to ensure timely and correct implementation of traffic management, and control of the in and out movement of equipment and materials to the sites and protection of the workforce within the closures.
- Maintain welfare standards on site.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the implementation of the A-one+ Business Model and attainment of the objectives, performance targets and quality promises.
- Understand and implement the A-one+ area 10 processes and procedures
- Advise and motivate site personnel and ensure that arrangements are made for appropriate training/mentoring where necessary
- Promote innovation
- Encourage feedback and drive continual improvement.
Person Specification
Experience and Competencies:
- Significant Years of Construction / Site Management experience.
- Highways and Traffic Management experience.
- Strong safety culture.
- High level of knowledge and competency in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental management and responsibilities.
- Safety Management qualifications / recognised training e.g. IOSH
- Personal competency cards in line with company policy, e.g. CSCS.
- Traffic Management Foreman`s Course (Recommended)
- Experienced with construction quality management systems and self certification.
