The Flame v rare Fender twin-cutaway electric (£500)

This is a black double cutaway with two humbuckers and rosewood fretboard - its the same shape as the Squier Elite but a far superior guitar. In the early '80s Fender decided to take on Gibson's Les Paul and made about 400 of these to trial in shops in Germany and Belgium. There wasn't enough demand for a Gibsonesque Fender and the model never went into production proper.
Its a lovely guitar thats nothing like a Les Paul or a Fender, the fretboard in particular is wonderfully playable. I bought it new in Sounds Great, Heald Green, in about '85.
