African Drumming For Women
Always wanted to drum but never had the confidence?
Want to have fun learning whilst meeting like minded people?
Interested in the drum as a tool for healing and change?
Then why not join us!
Drumroots Women's Weekends are for women with no experience of drumming and offer a chance for us to come together and create our own space. Through drumming we can heal our lives and harness the natural energy that is always available and waiting for us to connect.
Our next weekend is at The Pankhurst Centre (Nelson Street, Manchester), 21-21 November, 11am-4pm.
Activities are held within a women’s circle. Each day includes warm up games to learn basic djembe technique, group playing (traditional West African rhythms), opportunities for improvised solo playing, and start/end of day meditations....plus a few surprises! Costs are £90/80 (includes all tuition and drum hire) - concessions available for low waged women.
The weekend is taught by experienced facilitators, Joanna Huddart and Tess Clarke, who are members of Tanante and Drumroots, the North West's leading West African drumming collective..
For more information and a booking form please contact Joanna on 0161 2572615 or email joannaATdrumroots.org.uk. You can also find out more about our work at www.drumroots.org.uk (not for profit worker’s co-operative).
Hope to hear from you soon!
