Software Developer (ASP .NET, C#, SQL Server)

Goorlie Holdings Limited has sponsored development of a software solution for launch of an Insurance Broking business. Initially, Goorlie requires additional development resource based in Manchester to assist with completion of the project. For the right candidate, opportunities exist to participate in the support, extended development and exploitation of this ground-breaking application.

Working alongside a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for developing a cutting-edge web based application for the insurance industry. You will be responsible for developing new components of the system as well as fixing issues identified with existing components. You will be developing using the very latest Microsoft technologies including VS2008 SP1/VS2010 and the MS Entity Framework alongside a SQL Server 2005 database.

Essential Experience/Skills
• Minimum 2 years of commercial experience in C#, ASP .NET, SQL Server. Experience of ASP .NET 3.5 and SQL Server 2005/2008 will be looked on favourably.
• Experienced developer in Visual Studio 2008+
• Strong OOD skills including design patterns and a decent idea around multi-tier architectures.
• Knowledgeable about web services or WCF.
• A 2:1 or above degree in a software related degree.
• Good communication skills.

Desirable Experience/Skills
• Experience using Entity Framework or another ORM related tool.
• Experience with LINQ.
• Familiarity with the Telerik controls suite.
• Any Microsoft Certifications (MCP, MCTS, MCSD, MCPD etc).
