For the last 6 years I have worked as a Nursery Nurse. I have been in a management position (Third-in-Charge) since November 2007, and have been the Room Leader of the Baby Room 2 since July 2007. I have also worked as a volunteer in an After School Club for 2 years, completed 2 weeks work experience in a nursery, and had numerous regular babysitting jobs since I was 13.
I am a very caring, trustworthy, and intelligent person, with a natural ability and love of children. I have a passion for ensuring children get the best start in life! I love being able to teach children through fun and interesting activities. I also enjoy cooking and helping children understand the importance of healthy food. I have my own son, and have a whole new appreciation for the heartbreaking decisions that parents have to make regarding where to place their child when they go back to work, and it is very important to me to make you feel happy and confident in knowing your child is having a great time in your absense. I am not currently on the OFSTED register, but I am more than willing to join this so you are able to claim child care costs back through working tax credits. I also do not currently drive, but I am in the process of starting my lessons, and have access to a car when I have finished.
I have completed a NVQ Level 3 in Childrens Care, Learning and Development, and a NVQ Level 2 in Childrens Care and Education. I have completed first aid training, along with many other courses such as safeguarding chilren, food hygiene, working with parents, planning and observation, special educational needs coordinator, and many other various courses.
I am available immediately, and I am flexible over hours, but I am preferably looking for something full time.
I am currently on £8.50ph, and would like to match this, however, I may consider a slightly lower pay if I was able to bring my own son with me. Please do not worry that this means I wont give your child/ren enough attention - this is not the case.
