Assistant Site Manager
My client, a leading International Oil, Gas and Renewable energy Consulting and Engineering company due to increased project commitments require the services of an Assistant Site Manager working on a Offshore Wind Farm based in Lancashire.
- Acting as Principle Contractor Assistant Site Manager. Initially you will be responsible for overseeing the cable works being undertaken by `Carillion EHV Project Services, ensuring the contractor carries out his scope of work in accordance with terms and conditions of the contract and to meet their obligations under UK Health and Safety legislation.
- You will also support, and deputise for the site manager on the larger AREVA contract for the complete onshore sub station works .
- Carry out Site Inspections and audits as required
- Chair in the absence of the Site Manager the weekly Site Progress/coordination meetings and submit minutes of the meetings to Project Management Team
- Review/comment (if required) on all contractors RAMS for adequacy and advise Site and Project Managers accordingly.
- Liaise with all Contractors on sites under his remit
Qualifications / Requirements
- Extensive site management of Civil Construction and Mechanical and Electrical works (including HV substation construction) within a UK Distribution Network Operator (DNO) environment (e.g. National Grid United Utilities EDF etc)
- In depth knowledge of the installation of onshore and beach landfall 132 kva HV cable installation works, High Voltage underground cable systems and the work methods associated with these operations i.e. trenching operations, horizontal directional drilling works, joint bays, cable jointing, cable terminations etc
- Experience of chairing site meetings
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office
- Holder of Safety Passport (CSCS, CCNSG or JITB equivalent
- UK Driving Licence
- Health and Safety Qualification such as NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safety etc
- National Grid BESC and Competent Persons Card
- Experience of National Grid or DNO Permit To Work Systems
