Manchester short term flatshare offered
Large room to rent from January 2010, student house in Victoria Park (£72 pw)
I'll be elsewhere for my second semester at uni, so I need to rent out my room...
The location:
Victoria Park is a leafy part of Manchester, away from the noise and pollution of Oxford Rd. The neighbourhood is full of both working families and student houses; grand houses and victorian architecture, trees and quiet residential streets. It's about 7 minutes cycle to the main University of Manchester/RNCM campus (or 10 minutes to North/UMIST campus). The house isn't on a bus route, but there are regular busses nearby into town/uni.
The house:
It's a 6 bedroom, 3 story victorian semi detached house in Victoria park. There's wireless broadband (WIFI), a big kitchen (with 2 fridges, 8 gas hobs, a freezer, new washing machine, tumble dryer, 2 sinks and an oven/grill) and 2 bathrooms, both with toilets and showers. There's a sofa and TV in the kitchen, but no living room - which doesn't really matter as the bedrooms are all so large. There's a paved yard at the back of the house with a gate leading to an alleyway - perfect for keeping bikes or a motorbikes safe and out of sight.
The room:
Fully furnished with:
Double bed, desk, sink, chest of drawers, built in wardrobe, TV, sofa bed and bedside table and a huge radiator. The floor is nicely varnished wooden floorboards. There are alcoves in the walls which are really useful for storing things that would otherwise take up loads of space - see photos!
Other tennants:
Both undergrad and postgrad students, British and foreign, male and female, at Man Met, Man Uni, and RNCM - a good bunch!
The deal:
Rent is £72/week + £1.40 a day for bills (TV license, water, gas, WIFI etc). It's payable monthly on the 10th of the month and there's a £350 returnable deposit to the landlord (held in a protected account until you leave). The landlord pays the bills on our behalf, and if there's any money over/underpaid, it gets sorted at the end of the year when the contract runs out (10th July). If you'd like to stay longer I'm sure that can be arranged with the landlord.
Give me a shout if you'd like to look round!
Cheers, Dan
